Novice Girls Island trip

Langley’s Novice girls’ team travelled to Vancouver Island on May 20th for an exciting pair of exhibition games at the Panorama Recreation Centre in North Saanich. The predominantly rookie team (Langley’s first novice girls team in six years) has had a tough first half of the season, sitting with a 0-8 record for league play.
On Saturday the girls put all of the knowledge and skills learned so far to the test. Their first game against the Juan de Fuca Whalers was a hard fought battle. The Langley Thunder came up short on the scoreboard but not in effort, ending in a 7-4 loss.
Not to be discouraged, the girls were back on the floor less than two hours later against the Cowichan Valley Thunder. Determination took hold, with the entire team giving all they had. When the thunderstorm ended, the Langley Thunder Novice girls stood victorious with a 10 – 0 win. Recording their first win and shutout of the season.
Congratulations Girls!
