Yesterday was my sons last minor field lacrosse game for the Langley Association. It couldn’t of been a better day the weather was fantastic & the outcome of the U18 game was in our favor. After several close games & getting silver in U14 & last year in U19 it was a fitting end to his minor career to win a Gold medal for this association. I admit fully I had mixed emotions at the of the game yesterday.
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone with the association for welcoming him to the association from Chilliwack, supporting his development as a lacrosse player but also as a person. He has always had first class coaches & managers throughout the years that pushed him & showed the patience that he needed. He was fortunate enough to selected to represent BC in 3 national championships & 1 US national championship in 2012 he always proudly declared he played for Langley. This was very much a testament to Langley Minor Field Lacrosse. There were ups and downs but he never once waivered in his commitment to the association.
Personally, our family was welcomed and we met some of the greatest people within the association very proud to call many friends. Some fantastic memories from Seattle, Spokane, Las Vegas & Palm Springs tournaments we attended.
Thank you to each and everyone of you, thank you for taking an outsider into your ranks accepting him as your own, thank you for all your dedication, time & commitment. I know we will be seeing you around the box and field in the future.
Yours in Lacrosse,
Wayne, Tracey & Connor McNeill
From the association – Thank you so much for sending in this note. The volunteers in this association work hard to make sure all players are accepted and enjoy their season in our community. Even though our club is small, we are working hard to grow field lacrosse in the community and its really appreciated to hear such kind words from your family. Best of luck to Connor in the future!
