“Try It” Session at Queen’s Park during the Dorothy Robertson Tournament (Volunteers Needed
The PCFLL has scheduled a Girls Field Lacrosse Session on May 10th from 1:00-3:00pm at Queen’s Park in New Westminster. This coincides with the Dorothy Robertson Girls Box Lacrosse Tournament so we are trying to recruit younger girls to play Field Lacrosse. The Dorothy Robertson Tournament is for Tyke, Novice and Pee Wee teams so we are directly targeting younger girls.
We need player volunteers from U19 and U15 to help set up and run fun skills activities. Any players that volunteer will be provided a letter from the PCFLL that can be used as volunteer credit to meet high school graduation requirements. If you would like to volunteer, please email Charlene Jordan-Jones (firstname.lastname@example.org) to confirm your involvement.
Girls Field Lacrosse Summer Camp
There are number of Girls Field Lacrosse Camps offered in the USA during the summer months. Last summer, Charlie, Olivia, Ashley and Ella McNeill, and Shonlee Wallace attended a camp through WomensLax.com in Seattle. This was affordable and the coaches were players/coaches with USC. This year Coach Munday (Head Coach, USC) will be running the camp so it should be even better. It is a great opportunity to further develop your stick and playing skills.
We hope everyone is enjoying the break from field lacrosse but keeping active and fit! There are many opportunities to practice, develop your skills, and play field lacrosse during the summer months so we encourage you take advantage of these opportunities. Field lacrosse is a fabulous sport that can be played well into adulthood. If you are interested in receiving information about camps/clinics and playing opportunities such as tournaments over the summer, please let us know and we will continue to send you updates.
