Team BC will be presenting the 2014 Women’s Field Lacrosse Travel Program that will take place between September 2014 and January 2015. The Player Tryout Camps and Team Selections will take place February 28-March 1, 2014 at Queen’s Park East Field in New Westminster. This upcoming year will see an expansion of the Team BC – Women’s Field Program to three teams:
Team BC Senior (Grades 11 & 12 – Born 1997-1998)
Team BC Sophomore (Grade 10 – Born 1999)
Team BC Freshman (Grade 8 & 9 – Born 2000-2001)
Following Team Selections, the Team BC – Women’s Field Lacrosse Program will take a hiatus as to not conflict with the Provincial Box Lacrosse Leagues throughout the spring/summer months. In the fall of 2014, the Team BC – Women’s Field Lacrosse Program will ramp things up with training sessions scheduled weekly and without conflict with Community Field Lacrosse Scheduled games. It is also the intention of the Team BC Program to continue to facilitate a playing relationship with the Women’s Youth Lacrosse Leagues in the Pacific Northwest Region of the United States.
Led by Head Coach Dan Stroup, the intention of the Travel Program is to develop and expose BC’s female lacrosse athletes to college and university coaches and to assist the players in the process of preparing them for post-secondary opportunities.
The cost of this program would be approximately $1,250 per player per travel tournament ($2,500 per player for two travel tournaments), including Team BC equipment/apparel, travel, food/accommodations, etc. and will be run on an break-even basis.
