Posted by Adam Palmblad on Dec 16 2016 at 03:46PM PST

General Information:

The box lacrosse season is a short but busy couple of months, starting with evaluations and the forming of teams in March to Provincial Championships in July.  All registration will be done online starting the week of January 20, 2015, this is mandated by the BC Lacrosse Association. Fee Payments will only be accepted using PayPal (credit card and bank transfers) cash and cheques can no longer be accepted.

  • Every player (new and returning) must send the required documents to the registrar@langleythunder.ca  either by email or by mailing them to LMLA PO Box 31042, RPO Thunderbird, Langley BC V1M 0A9, registration is not complete until these documents are received, the player will not be allowed to participate in evaluations or practices until they are received.
  • Only players that live in Langley or Aldergrove can play for our association as per BC Lacrosse rules, specific proof of residency documents are required to support this
  • Purchase of player’s equipment is the responsibility of the player, only approved helmets can be used, a list of required equipment is listed under our ‘"Why Lacrosse?":http://www.langleythunder.ca/why-lacrosse/’ drop down at the top of our home page
  • The number of players on a team is determined by the number of players registered in each division
  • Our Refund policy is posted on the registration page, a written request is required to withdraw
  • Game Schedules are done by the Lower Mainland Lacrosse Commission and are not available until late March/Early April
  • Teams may enter tournaments which would be at an additional cost per player
  • Please sign up for ‘"Thunder Mail":http://www.langleythunder.ca/contact/sign-up-for-our-newsletter/’ to ensure you receive all important information regarding the upcoming season
  • It is extremely important that you register as soon as possible as we can’t always promise placement for late registrants
  • If you are applying for funding through KidSport, please contact the Registrar directly for further instructions
  • If you have questions regarding our Female teams, please contact girlslax@langleythunder.ca
  • If someone is interested in coaching, please complete & submit a coaching application to hcoach@langleythunder.ca

Specific to Mini-Tyke

  • Both boys and girls will play on the same team
  • Players are split into teams based on skill level and years played,  at this age friends can request to be with friends and we will do our best accommodate these requests, please email your division coordinator if this applies
  • Each team plays one game per week, they are played on ½ floor, meaning sideways rather than the full length of the floor, this allows them to actually gain skills rather than just chase the ball from end to end
  • Games are usually on the weekend however we do not know for sure when they will be this season
  • Each team is given two practices times per week, these are on set days and at set times
  • Stick checking and place and push applies, not full contact
  • Langley Lacrosse Day will be held in April this is a day to bring your friends out to try lacrosse

Specific to Novice, PeeWee, Bantam & Midget:

  • Evaluations for all players will start the week of February 22, 2015.  "Evaluations":http://www.langleythunder.ca/2013/12/03/box-lacrosse-evaluations/are required for each player in these divisions and are necessary to ensure the correct placement for each individual player based on their experience and skill level.  We typically have 3 levels in each age group which are called A, B, & C
  • Each Team is given two practice times per week, these are on set days and at set times
  • Each Team will play one home game on a set day at a set time, and one away game every week, the away game time and day will be determined by your opponent’s home game day and time
  • Contact / body checking applies
  • If your child is interested in playing the position of Goalie, please send an email to hgcoach@langleythunder.ca Goalie Equipment can be borrowed from the association email
  • Our goal is to have all female teams in each of these divisions however that is determined by the number of girls that register, if we do not have the required numbers for a girls only team, girls will either play with the boys (in Novice) or we will try to combine with an another association
