The Langley Thunder Bantam B2 lacrosse team capped of an amazing season with a bronze medal win at the Minor Box Provincial Championships this past weekend in Delta. The team started off the tournament with an exciting 5 -3 win over the top seeded Vancouver Burrards. Later in the day, Captain Kyle Olsen scored a crucial tying goal with 15 seconds left in regulation time against Cowichan Valley. Trevayne then sealed the win against Cowichan Valley to bring the team to victory.  On Saturday, the Thunder again tied the host Delta team and lost in overtime. This brought them into the crossover round in second place in their grouping. On Saturday evening they lost an exciting game to Comox, which then put them into the bronze medal round.  On Sunday morning the team was well prepared for their game against North Delta, however were missing one of their key players Raachel Beaulieu, who had flown out that morning to participate in the Girls Bantam Nationals as a member of Team BC. The Thunder made sure that Raachel was present in spirit, by proudly hanging her jersey beside their team banner behind the bench. During the game Langley never relinquished the lead, with game MVP Jordan Daniel scoring 4 of the team’s 7 goals against North Delta, and goalie Jaxon Hendrickson playing an outstanding game in net. Final score of the game was 7-4 for Langley. > > This caps off an amazing season for the team, which was mostly composed of first year Bantam players. Thanks to Coach Brad Johnson, Assistant Coach Jamie Hendrickson, Doormen Karl Daniel, Randy Beaulieu, and Rusty Hendrickson, our amazing manager Mike Garbutt and the entire team of talented kids and supportive parents – ‘the little team that could’!
